September and October are months full of events related to food and wine. At the end of September, a historic route, driven by a steam locomotive, leads from Siena to Chiusi on the occasion of the XXXVIII edition of the Festa dell’Uva e del Vino. The territory of the Crete Senesi, which embraces the municipalities of Asciano and Rapolano Terme, is characterized by an infinite succession of biancane and calanchi, deep “knife-blade” grooves in the ground, and by the beautiful panorama of the surroundings of Siena. In Chiusi passengers will have the day at their disposal to participate at the event full of stands and to take a guided tour of the city. Next month, in departure from Siena, two other routes are planned to reach the Sagra del Fungo Porcino in Vivo d’Orcia and the Festa dell’Olio Novo in the village of Trequanda.

In October the Mugello steam train will depart from Pistoia, where it will be possible to see the accumulation of fuel,  makes its way to Florence. The old locomotive takes about an hour and a half to cover the entire itinerary, giving the unmissable opportunity to cross the enchanting Mugello landscape before arriving at the final destination on the occasion of the famous Sagra delle Castagne in Marradi.
