THE LIGURIAN TRAIL
The 675 km-long route crosses the entire region connecting Luni to Ventimiglia, right up to the majestic Balzi Rossi cliffs. Endless trails through vineyards, olive groves, evergreen oaks, pine and chestnut trees, just steps away from sandy beaches or cliffs overlooking the sea.
VENTIMIGLIA
Once across the river Roja, the Marconi trail takes you to Ventimiglia Vecchia. From here, you can go along the promenade to Calandre beach, ideal to cool down and swim in the crystal clear waters before heading back.
TRIORA – VALLE ARGENTINA
The starting point (don’t forget to take with you the famous bread of Triora as a snack) is the dirt road that contains the evocative remains of the church of Santa Caterina. Once you have walked through the chestnut woods along the river Capriolo, you will reach Goina, and at Passo della Guardia, you can then go back to Triora following the panoramic route.
FINALE LIGURE
A trail following in the footsteps of Napoleon Bonaparte, which starts not so far from the ancient gate of Finalborgo. As you go up, you will soon reach the Regina Pacis chapel with spectacular views of Finale Ligure. Continuing, you will reach the woods along an old mule track that will take you to the cobbled courtyard of the church of San Martino and the sanctuary Maria Regina Mundi.
GROTTA DELL’EDERA
An imposing cliff and a magnificent example of Karst formation in Finale Ligure, which you can reach by walking through a quiet forest of evergreen oaks. From here you can continue until you reach the ancient Castrum Perticae and the Chapel of Sant’Antonino.
NOLI
Known as “Dante’s walk”, this is a 30-minute short walk which will take you to one of the most famous panoramic points of Western Liguria, the Grotta dei Falsari: a magnificent natural window looking onto the sea, which can also be reached from the Sentiero del Pellegrino trail.
PARCO NATURALE REGIONALE DEL BEIGUA
It has been in the famous list of Unesco Global Geoparks since 2015. A territory full of natural wonders which covers the provinces of Genoa and Savona. A 26 km-long ridge forms a beautiful natural balcony overlooking the sea.
