The Corniches are three parallel panoramic roads, at three different levels of height, along the French Riviera. They flow close to the mountain and run along the sea: beautiful paths that cross picturesque villages and allow you to admire breathtaking views.

The most famous is the Grande Corniche which connects Montecarlo to Nice. Originally it was a mule track, then it was Napoleon who commissioned the construction of a real road for his Italian campaign. Starting from Roquebrune we continue to Nice, making a mandatory stop in La Turbie, known for its car rallies and for being a stage of the rally. The enveloping curves, the Alps in the background and the sea on the coast make it truly unique, fascinating and spectacular. It’s not coincidence that Hitchcock chose to shoot here the iconic scene of the pursuit of the film “To Catch a Thief”.

The intermediate Moyenne Corniche is very beautiful but difficult to travel because of the hairpin bends and steep climbs. But it’s worth crossing it for the view and for stopping to visit the enchanting medieval village of Eze. It is considered one of the most characteristic villages in all of France and the garden with an infinite view of the French Riviera is a must.

The lower road remains the busiest because it is the best connected and safest. In addition to the views of the coast, it offers some interesting places to stop. Evocative is certainly Villefranche-sur-Mer, a small fishing village with perched lanes and moored boats. Cap Ferrat is another famous destination for its luxurious homes and for its 14km long promenade surrounded by nature.

All that remains is to travel and discover the magic and romance of these itineraries with a recommended return at sunset.
