The 71st Rallye Sanremo and the 39th Sanremo Historic Rally
11/10/2024
Sanremo, the land of motorsport and adrenaline. From 17 to 20 October, the return of the cars that have made rally history here, past and present

From 17 to 20 October in the City of Flowers, engines will roar into life for the 71st Rallye Sanremo (18-19 October) and the 39 Sanremo Historic Rally (19-20 October). In addition to Sanremo itself, in the spotlight will be the hilly roads inland where the special stages will take place, including the long stretch from Ghimbegna to Soldano, which also featured in the Rally delle Palme on 22 September.

Both events – modern and historic – will be conclusive in the Italian Rally Championships, and are also valid in the European Championship series. In line with tradition, the start and finish will be in Corso Imperatrice, overlooked by the town’s Liberty-style casino.

The two events get underway with sporting and technical checks on Thursday 17 October.

On Friday 18 and Saturday 19 October, the professional fun begins with the contenders in the 71st Rallye Sanremo, the final act in the Sparco Overall Italian Rally Championship and the European Rally Trophy.

But before the drivers in the modern rally parade down Corso Imperatrice to celebrate their results on Saturday afternoon, there’s time for the special stages of the 39th Sanremo Historic Rally, a race that counts as the eighth and final stage of the Italian Historic Car Rally Championship (CIRAS), the European Historic Rally Championship 2024 and the Michelin Historic Rally Cup.

Two events that are eagerly awaited all year by enthusiasts, who have the chance to admire cars that have made rally world history past and present, and races that are always thrilling.
