Great food and wine culture, innovation, lifestyle, sustainability and short production chains. These are the winning features of Taste, the event organised by Pitti Immagine, which for once abandons fashion and focuses on Made in Italy food and wine excellence. The 2023 edition is ahead of the curve, scheduled for 4 to 6 February and taking place for the second time at Fortezza da Basso (rather than Stazione Leopolda), where visitors will once again have the opportunity to taste all the products.

500 exhibitors, including more than 80 participating for the first time, will put on a great show for connoisseurs and food specialists from all over the world.

It’s a fabulous overview of the very best of contemporary food culture, from savoury to sweet, soft drinks to spirits via table design and more. Like a piece of jazz, the theme chosen for the event’s publicity campaign and a musical genre that symbolises the desire and freedom to try unusual combinations and explore innovative sounds.

The theme of this year’s event is pasta, the prince of Italian cuisine, which is featured in a special installation at the entrance to the fair. Meanwhile, amari liqueurs are the stars of the Special Spirits Area.

There will be no shortage of Taste Rings by Davide Paolini – aka the gastronaut, the man who dreamed up the whole event – or FuoriDiTaste events in the city, with a programme of tastings and themed dinners, special events, talks and new approaches to food. And for the very first time, Taste will host the Forchettiere Awards, for the 2023 Dish, Green Restaurant, Signature Cocktail and Personality of the Year.
