A temple of fine hospitality in Florence’s Piazza della Repubblica, Hotel Savoy is also a place of art and culture. In fact, until 20 May visitors to the hotel can enjoy the exhibition Prospettive Astratte: il Tributo di Annya Sand alle Donne, an immersive journey in the mystical realm of female creativity by contemporary multimedia artist Annya Sand, whose work has graced the walls of international museums, prestigious private collections and state institutions including the Houses of Parliament in London and the United Nations headquarters in New York.
It’s a moving homage to womanhood from an innovative perspective, which boldly challenges stereotypes and redefines the very essence of what it means to be female.

Following this, from 5 June, World Environment Day will be marked by the captivating work of Siberian artist and model Ludmilla Radchenko, who uses a combination of photographs, digital collage and vibrant acrylic paint to explore the concept of recycling and therefore sustainability; her pieces are printed on a special fabric made from recycled truck tyres and then embellished with luminous frames of transparent polyester foam.

But the Florence branch of Rocco Forte Hotels has also long been synonymous with culinary excellence, thanks to its Irene Restaurant, which is offering a delicious new menu for spring, created as ever by chef Fulvio Pierangelini, and an exclusive collaboration with the renowned Florentine clothing label Loretta Caponi.
“The colours of spring food are soft greens (broad beans, peas, asparagus), whites (ricotta and fresh cheeses), the strawberries and truffles of March…” This is the guidance the chef gave Lucia Caponi (daughter of Loretta) and her son Guido to inspire their designs and their embroidery.
The result is tablecloths and napkins made in chunky linen, hand-embroidered with cotton yarns and inspired by the dishes on the new spring menu, which have transformed table settings in the restaurant in a celebration of this very special season of rebirth.
