Located in Liguria, halfway between Monte Carlo and Portofino, La Meridiana is the ideal starting point to discover the Ligurian Riviera and this beautiful region, its colorful fishing villages and the fascinating hinterland.
This delightful charming hotel was designed and built in 1971 by Luisa Berto de Segre, a few years after her sister Teresa Berto de Galleani had built the nearby eighteen-hole golf course, the beautiful Club House and the houses that line the golf course. Everything is designed in the style of neighboring Provence: large arches and canopies, exposed stones, old tile roofs, warm and sunny colors.
La Meridiana – this is the name chosen in honor of the adjacent Castello del Carretto, called “della meridiana” – opened its doors to guests in 1977 and already in 1978 became part of the prestigious French chain Relais & Chateaux.
Alessandra and Edmondo Segre are the owners of a country house where luxury is made of welcome and attention to detail. A personalized elegance, full of authenticity. Everything is designed and chosen for customers: from the furnishings, which respond to Alessandra’s very Italian taste, to the obsessive care for the products that can be enjoyed at the table.
Edmondo personally takes care of the kitchen, his passion since ever, grown with the complicity of the greatest international chefs. Flavors that can be found in the Il Rosmarino restaurant or in the more informal Bistrot of La Meridiana.
The choice is between absolute relaxation and active outdoor life: tennis, horse or golf, in the prestigious neighboring Country Club. But the sea is still close. Behind the mountain overlooking the residence is Alassio with its beaches and social life. In a short time you can reach Montecarlo or Nice, the Riviera dei Fiori or Portofino.
