For Sting and Trudie Styler, Il Palagio is first of all, the villa they had always dreamed of and which they brought back to life with an incredible renovation job. How did the desire to make it a place of production and hospitality come about?
The estate, , an agricultural holding dating back to 1530 set among the verdant hills of Figline Valdarno, just south of Florence, was purchased by Trudie and Sting in 1997. Captivated by  its beauty, they wanted to carry on the agricultural tradition and convey their love for this place and for Italy to their guests.

Riccardo Cotarella, considered Italy’s leading consultant oenologist, collaborates with Il Palagio. What wines have been created?
With Cotarella the quality of Il Palagio wines has been raised to extraordinary levels, always working with a view to sustainability and respect for nature.  This gave rise to great names such as Baci sulla Bocca, New Day, Sacred Love and Everything She Does is Magic, the Classic Method sparkling wine from Sangiovese grapes.

What else does the estate produce?
An excellent extra virgin olive oil, fruit of the olives (Leccino, Frantoiano and Moraiolo) from over 6,600 trees, harvested by hand every year. Honeys from beehives located near the vineyards, which are healthier due to the yeasts carried by the bees.  There is also an organic vegetable garden, where also Zolfino beans are grown. All produce is sold at the Farm Shop not far from the estate.

Il Palagio, with its farmhouses and its 350 hectares, is also a place of hospitality. What experiences can guests enjoy?
Private events and enchanting weddings surrounded by golden hills and vineyards can be organized. You can also stay in the 16th-century villa, and on request we organize cooking classes, movies under the stars, tastings and much more.

What relationship does Il Palagio have with The Mall Firenze?
Il Palagio’s guests are lovers of quality shopping and we often organize transfers to The Mall Firenze (we are only 7 km away), to enrich their Italian holiday. Conversely, many visitors to The Mall Firenze stop by the Farm Shop and are delighted with the products they find in the shop.
