Between luxury, sea and glamor

Cannes, famous for the Film Festival, is the best known city on the French coast. An exclusive seaside resort with tall palm trees, luxury hotels, a characteristic historic center and beaches to relax. Cannes is the ideal destination to spend a weekend with the typical French Riviera glamor.

The Promenade de la Croisette, the avenue that runs alongside the promenade, is certainly the best known place. A 2km walk with the sea and tall palm trees on one side, and luxury hotels and boutiques on the other. The Cannes Film Festival takes place at the Palais de Festival, right on the Croisette. During this period, you can breathe an atmosphere full of charm and elegance: iconic is the staircase with the red carpet in which international actors and directors parade.

The most authentic part of the city is certainly located in its historic center, Le Suquet, which climbs the hill. Walking in its uphill streets, surrounded by typical shops and restaurants, is the best way to know the true soul of the city. The medieval tower of the Castle of Castre, 22 meters high, at the top of the historic center, offers an unforgettable glimpse of the entire gulf. According to legend, the man of the iron mask was locked up here after his escape from Margaret Island.

At the foot of La Suquet is the harbor, where luxury yachts are moored next to the fishermen’s boats. From here boats leave for excursions to the Îles de Lérins, an archipelago facing Cannes with pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and green pine forests.

Do not miss the Marché Forville, the oldest market in the city. Perfect to find the typical products of the south of France: a blaze of colors and scents. To be discovered are the 9 thematic gardens of Villa Rothschild, crowned by large dancing fountains, and the park-garden Residences Champfleuri.
