ITINERARIES
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat mon amour
03/08/2023
Must-see sights and beaches of one of the most popular and exclusive destinations on the French Riviera

It was once a favourite destination of the seigneurs of Nice, and later of wealthy foreign families, crowned heads and artists such as Matisse, Chagall, Picasso and Cocteau. Today, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat – just an hour away from The Mall Sanremo – is one of the most beautiful pearls of the French Riviera.

VILLA EPHRUSSI DE ROTHSCHILD
A beautiful early 20th-century monumental villa overlooking the bay, with nine different themed gardens, including Japanese, French and exotic, with musical fountains.

VILLA SANTO SOSPIR
Known as “the tattooed villa” for its interiors entirely painted by Jean Cocteau, who lived here for 11 years with Francine Weisweiller, the owner of the villa with a deep passion for art (the villa is closed for renovation works until October 2023).

VILLA KÉRYLOS
The reconstruction of a luxurious ancient palace on the island of Delos, Greece, featuring peristyle, vast courtyard with colonnade, frescoes and mosaics.

MUSÉUM DU COQUILLAGE
With more than 7,000 shells from all over the world, including record-breaking specimens and genuine natural works of art, it is the largest collection of shells in the Mediterranean.

CHAPELLE DE SAINT-HOSPICE
A small, characteristic chapel overlooking the sea, built in the 11th century and restored in the 17th and 18th centuries.

CAP-FERRAT LIGHTHOUSE
This is one of the symbols of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. Destroyed during World War 2, it was rebuilt and became a historical monument.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES
Plage or Cros Dei Pin, one of the largest beaches on the peninsula, close to the harbor. Plage Paloma, a favourite with famous figures, such as Matisse, Cocteau, Churchill and, in more recent times, Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Elton John and Tom Cruise. Plage des Fossés and Plage des Fossettes, at Pointe Saint-Hospice, and Plage de Passableb, on the western side, also much appreciated for its beautiful sunsets.
