The Golf Club Circolo degli Ulivi in Sanremo, overlooking the sea and set among the olive trees, is today with its 18 holes  a dream for every lover of the green.

The course of the golf course of Sanremo extends for 5203 meters through the magnificent green hills of the city hinterland: 18 holes, par 69, with single holes of different difficulty, for all tastes and all levels of preparation. It is an evocative field, which appears simple to the players at the beginning, but which instead can prove challenging even for the most experienced golfers.

According to tradition, the first December of 1931 began when two English gentlemen – Gannon and Blanford and the masters Prette and Pasquali “played” the first game. The space that hosted the Clubhouse had also been used as a cricket space and track for the newest “flying machines”, and to promote the game was of course the English colony that found here a perfect green, with olive trees on one side and the Mediterranean Sea from ‘else.

Numerous are the important personalities that over the years the golf course of Sanremo has seen protagonists on the green: in addition to the Milanese and Turin champions, winners of the most disparate national competitions, in the 30s assiduous goers were Leopold Philippe Charles Albert Meinrad Hubertus Marie Miguel de Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha, better known as Leopold III, who was king of Belgium from 1934 to 1951, and his wife Mary Lilian Baels, Princess of Rethy, authentic champion in the sport, Douglas Fairbanks Senior with his wife Mary Pickford, famous American stars of the silent, and Bernhard van Lippe-Biesterfeld, prince of the Netherlands and husband of Queen Giuliana.

One of the emotions that await players on the greens of the Golf Club Circolo degli Ulivi in Sanremo is the first edition of The Mall Sanremo Golf Cup, a single race for three categories and 18 holes. An unmissable competition in one of the historic circuits of Liguria, in collaboration with The Mall Sanremo.
