A few kilometers from the heart of Florence you can immerse yourself in the luxuriant quiet of the Fiesole hills. Here the sweetness of the wooded slopes is alternated with the steep profile of the Maiano quarries. The landscape heritage is enriched by the fruits of the farm, by the splendid olive groves and by the variety of animals bred. The farm is characterized by original furnishings and decorations of the 15th century, a real blast from the past.

The Botanic Garden of Fattoria di Maiano is not a common botanical garden. There are many hidden attractions and many trails to follow. From regenerating walks to picnics in the shade of oaks, from family outings on the educational farm to romantic intimacy on the shores of the lake. In addition, the farm with animals in the wild has always received the favor of young and old.

The Romantic Park, inaugurated by Queen Victoria in 1893, is a corner of Paradise. On the banks of the pond overlooks the quarry from which Lorenzo the Magnificent had the stones extracted for the Columns of the Cappella dei Principi, in the San Lorenzo’s Basilica.
