BEACHES
We’re on the beautiful Riviera of Flowers, washed by the crystal-clear Ligurian Sea. Of the various beach clubs, the most popular are those along the Passeggiata dell’Imperatrice. At the two ends of this stretch of coast, there’s the Tre Ponti beach to the east – a Sanremo classic – and to the west, the beach that’s home to the Victory Morgana Bay, one of the most glamorous restaurants on the Ligurian coast and perfect for summer evenings.
CYCLE PATH
Liguria is an extremely bike-friendly region, and Sanremo is no exception, with its seafront cycle path that follows the route of the former railway line. Here and there you’ll find a vintage touch in the form of blue signs naming the destinations.
VIA MATTEOTTI
Sanremo’s “Walk of Fame” along the main street, which is also home to the Ariston Theatre. On the pavement there’s a series of bronze plaques bearing the winning names and song titles of the Italian Song Festival, from 1951 right up to the present day.
SARDENAIRA
The perfect place for lunch on a summer day: fragrant Ligurian focaccia dressed with tomatoes, anchovies, capers and olives.
LA PIGNA
Sanremo’s old quarter, named after the concentric layout of its shady little streets.
GARDENS
Feel like cooling down in the shade of towering palm trees? Nothing could be easier in Sanremo, with its Passeggiata dell’Imperatrice on the seafront, or choose from its beautiful and exotic gardens, like those of Villa Nobel and Villa Ormond, or the scenic Giardini Regina Elena, above the Pigna neighbourhood.
THE MALL SANREMO
Unmissable at any time of year, the luxury mall offering a unique shopping experience and the very best of international brands. It’s also a window on the wonders of Sanremo and its surrounding area.
