In the hope that the pandemic doesn’t further postpone the return of live music to stadiums and arenas, the 2022 calendar of major concerts promises to be one of the best ever.
Kicking it off is the Vasco Rossi tour, which starts in Trento on 20 May and concludes in Turin on 30 June.
On 4 June – two years late – Luciano Ligabue finally takes the stage of the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia (Campovolo), to celebrate his 30 anni in un (nuovo) giorno.
9 June at Lignano Sabbiadoro is the first date in the first stadium tour of Cesare Cremonini, which concludes on 2 July at the Imola Circuit.
If we’re talking about the most long-awaited concerts of summer 2022, we have to mention the globally-acclaimed band Måneskin, who will appear on 9 July at the Circus Maximus in Rome, and the return of Jova Beach Party, at Lignano Sabbiadoro on 2 and 3 July and continuing until 10 September.
As for the return of international stars, I-Days in Milan hosts Greta Van Fleet on 9 June, Aerosmith on the 10th, Imagine Dragons on the 11th and Foo Fighters on the 12th.
In Florence, the spotlights will return to the stage of Firenze Rocks at the Visarno Arena, with Green Day on 16 June, Muse on the 17th, Red Hot Chili Peppers on the 18th and Metallica on the 19th.
Large-scale music events are also back at the Ippodromo San Siro for the Milano Summer Festival 2022. The lineup includes Green Day on 15 June, The Killers on 21 June, Alice Cooper on 29 June and Stromae on 20 July. Meanwhile, still on the rock theme, Pearl Jam is scheduled for 25 June at the Imola Circuit.
Moving to Rome, Roma Summer Fest returns to the Cavea of Auditorium Parco della Musica from 10 June to 6 August, with performances by Skunk Anansie on 29 June, Deep Purple on 2 July, Simple Minds on 17 July and LP on 22 July.
Finally, there are more big names at Lucca Summer Festival 2022, with Liam Gallagher on 6 July, Kasabian and John Legend on 9 July, and Ben Harper on 17 July.
